How to order your photo baby announcement

Step 1.

Determine what size you want. We offer 4x6" and 5x7" baby announcements. The basic differences are price and size, but size determines how much you can fit on the announcement. With the 5x7" announcements you can more easily fit additional pictures and information as well as design elements.

Step 2.

Decide what basic layout you want.

  • Do you want the announcement to be wider than it is tall or visa versa?
  • If it is a wide baby announcement, do you want the main photo to be on the right or on the left?
  • Do you want two equal photos instead of one main one?
  • Do you want additional small photos?
  • What wording do you want?
  • Do you want design elements (bows, blocks, baby items)
  • Etc.

Or, send us the photos and wording you want and see what we can make. There is no risk in this option because we always send a "proof" via email before we print them, as well as a hard copy in the mail for you to approve! This way you can give us the photos, have us come up with a basic layout that is custom built around your photos, and then you can tweak it from that point and tell us how to customize it to your taste!

We will email you up to 10 proofs as you request changes, and once you are satisfied, we mail you an actual print to approve! This way you can see how it will look in the envelope.

Or send us a picture of something you want us to replicate and then customize to you!

Deciding on fonts can be difficult. We have three basic catagories:

  • Script: Very, very elegant, flowing text that is beautiful but difficult to read for too long. This sometimes works for names, but not information like weight and inches. Example: The first 5x7 example to the right uses a script font for the name.
  • Elegant: Beautiful and a script-type font, but much easier to read. These work for both names and information. Example: The first 5x7 example to the right uses an elegant font for the information.
  • Fun: Fun fonts are the ones that look like they are...fun. They also work for anything, and are usually rounded and less formal looking . Example: The second 5x7 example to the right uses a fun font for the name.
  • Basic: These fonts are the non-descript ones, much like the text you are now reading. They are great for information about the baby because they are easy to read, but are less interesting when used for a name. Example: The second 5x7 example to the right uses a basic font for the information.

We divide all of our many fonts into these catagories so it is easier for both you and us. This way we know what type of font you are looking for and we can find the best one and see if you approve it. We could show you all of our fonts, but you can't really see if a font will work until it is on the baby announcement.

If you do have a specific font in mind, let us know. If we don't have it, and you do, it is perfectly legal for a design firm to design something on behalf of a client using the client's fonts.

Step 3.

Decide how many you want, and fill out our request form on the contact page.
